At SERVPRO^® of Austin & Albert Lea, we make sure to let clients know that we clean and disinfect all surfaces. That’s not being repetitious. The words mean different things.

When we clean something, we remove dirt, dust, grime, or trash. We also remove visible mold colonies or mildew. If a business client points out that some objects are really just clutter, we’ll move that as well, and all this work counts as cleaning.

Cleaning gets rid of most, but not all, germs, with germs including any organisms that can’t be seen without a microscope. Because cleaning can’t get rid of all germs, it is necessary to disinfect the surfaces as well. After all, it doesn’t take many germs to infect people with dangerous conditions. Disinfection kills the germs. Disinfectants require anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds to work. We never just spray and wipe.

When we clean something, we also disinfect it. We do it right.

If any odor particles remain after a cleaning/disinfection, we have equipment to get of those as well.
